Auditive Chamber is an audio/visual experimental performance using vocal imitation as a means for transcribing personality and interpersonal relationships. The work profiles six Houston-based female artists and curators of various ethnic origins (Pakistani, Cameroonian, Mexican) represented through a series of photographs. Throughout the performance the subjects become less source material and more reflective of the ways humans internalize the identities of others. Here mimicry is used as both flattery and intrapersonal analysis.  This selection of subjects reflects growing regional diversity and an internal/external cacophony of “voices.”
